Background to the transaction

Cantab Capital Partners was founded in 2006, at which time it managed assets of 30 million US dollars. By February 2015, assets under management had increased to 4.5 billion US dollars.

The firm's name is derived from Cantabrigia, the medieval Latin designation for Cambridge. The firm's investment activity is regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

In 2016, Cantab Capital Partners was acquired by GAM and has since formed part of GAM Systematic.
