UK Stewardship Code

Cantab Capital Partners' disclosure in relation to the UK Stewardship Code.

Background

Under COBS 2.2 of the FCA Handbook we are required to disclose publicly the nature of our commitment to the UK Stewardship Code, published by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) in July 2010.

The Code aims to improve the quality of engagement between institutional investors and companies, supporting long-term shareholder returns and the effective exercise of governance responsibilities. It applies on a comply-or-explain basis, and the FRC accepts that not every principle is relevant to every investor; firms that do not apply a principle are expected to explain why.

Our position

Cantab Capital Partners does not currently comply with the Code. Our investment strategy trades only futures and foreign exchange, so we do not hold positions in UK listed companies. The principles covering engagement with investee companies, escalation, collective action, voting and voting disclosure are therefore not applicable to us.

Should these circumstances change, we will review our commitment to the Code at that time and publish an appropriate disclosure.
